Topic: Lauren will explain how Inherited Retinal Diseases (or IRDs) can affect people of any age, the pipeline of experimental therapies available and, more importantly, how CERA partners with people with IRDs in what research to do and treatments to try. - Associate Professor Luis Alarcon-Martinez – Head of Visual Neurovascular Research, CERA
Topic: Luis will talk about his exciting discovery of Tunneling Nanotubes, thin tubes that connect blood vessels and regulate the amount of blood passing through them. This discovery opens the door to new treatments for eye diseases and the prevention of vision loss. - Apellis Spokesperson (yet to be advised)
